A Whimsical Nod to Traditional English Charm
This moodboard shows my idea for a children’s bedroom inspired by classic English interiors. The main feature is the beautiful ‘Owl and Willow’ wallpaper by William Morris, which has a lovely mix of nature, animals and soft colour. It feels magical but still quite calm, making it perfect for a child’s space.
I chose a soft green colour palette, with warm creams, gentle pinks and some deeper tones like the ochre velvet headboard to add contrast. The striped pelmet and green wardrobes bring in a cosy, old-fashioned feel, while still looking fresh. There are lots of soft patterns throughout, from the checked lampshades to the floral bedding and cushions, which help the room feel layered and comfortable. The furniture is simple and traditional, with light wood finishes that feel homely and timeless. I added fun touches like a doll’s house, gingham cushions and curved lampshades to bring some playfulness to the room. Altogether, it’s a space that feels warm, comforting and full of character, perfect for a child to grow up in and enjoy.
